Several guys these days seem to wonder how to get a date even though they are fairly attractive. When asked about such men, women actually tend to say similar things or suggest similar changes; adjustments that could be made for these unfortunate guys to start meeting women and asking them out. Some, if not most, of the men who actually manage to execute these steps may experience a sharp rise in self-confidence and dating activity. Below are a few strategies for how to get a date.

Be Open and Approachable

The first thing you need to do is be open and flexible. This is to reflect the fact that, although men are still generally the ones asking women out, women are becoming bolder and more daring. Even though you might still be the one to present the invitation later, you should definitely make it easier for women to approach you by looking truly approachable. For instance, let us say you are at a café and you are reading the newspaper. Be sure that you do not get so engrossed in the paper that you forget to check out your surroundings. Always sit up straight, not hunched over your reading material, and do glance up on occasions just in case a pretty woman happens to come by. Give out short, friendly smiles to people who capture your attention. However, do not linger unless you are interested in a particular woman.

Be a Gentleman

The next step for how to get a date is to be personable and—this is very important—very well-mannered. Majority of women really do love men who have great manners. So it is considered a step in the right direction if you are not overly familiar or too casual with women you have just met. Focus on being friendly first. You can do things such as pulling out chairs for women or holding a door open for them to signify your romantic intentions or interest. You could also give out appropriate compliments on occasions. This may help ease women into the idea of you asking them out for a date.

Ask for the Date

Once you have covered those steps, the next part of how to get a date is to actually ask. Do not, above all things, make it sound too elaborate from the very start. A first date is a casual foray (more friendly than anything else) and a testing ground for whether the two of you could have a deeper relationship. As such, do not make it sound too romantic but do not make it sound too reckless either.

You could say something that rings of sincerity, such as, “I hope this is not too forward, but would you like to have coffee together sometime?” It might sound like a cliché, but women like the sense of safety it implies. Thus, you may more than likely receive a yes. That way, you can move on to making an even better impression and getting the relationship you want.

When discussing how to get a date with a woman, remember not to use any pick-up lines that might be construed as cheesy. To get an idea of which lines women most dislike, ask a female friend or two for opinions; since they are better able to gauge what lines work for other women and what lines simply fall flat. Hopefully, you now have a few ideas to use to discover how to get a date.
